Nota bene :

Jean-Vasken Alyanakian’s mediation activities are exclusive of his work as a lawyer, in terms of objectives, philosophy and, of course, techniques.

Above all, it is exclusive of any conflict of interest: Jean-Vasken Alyanakian only acts as Mediator if he has not already acted, in the past, as a lawyer for one of the parties to the mediation, whether in the context of a consultation, a transaction, litigation or mediation (as lawyer for the “mediated” party).

This exclusivity is unlimited in time.

The lawyer’s professional code of ethics requires him to anticipate and avoid conflicts of interest.

The mediator’s point of view:

“A few years ago, I decided to become a professional mediator because, after some fifteen years’ experience in business litigation, as a lawyer since 2000, I could no longer stand the idea of sometimes being a player in random negotiations, with no “quantum leap”, when a creative and rapid agreement would be possible.

In fact, it was the successful conclusion of negotiations on the eve of a hearing, after several years of litigation, that prompted me to turn to mediation as a way of speeding up the process and sparing the parties the stress, collateral damage, cost, duration and uncertainty of litigation.

I also wanted to have at my disposal binding methodological tools that would enable the parties to avoid breaking off their relationship when such a break-up did not necessarily correspond to the direction of history, as they had written it for many years… Avoiding the parties starting a lawsuit or enabling them to get out of one, avoiding crises and blockages of all kinds, through a creative agreement that they will find surprising compared to their initial expectations and fears, is an unspeakable pleasure for me as a mediator.

You have to dare to mediate, it’s not ungrateful to those who try!”
